Karnak Temple, Luxor, Egypt

More images from our 2010 trip to Luxor. Karnak Temple is the big one where many ceremonies took place including the ones surrounding the rising of the Nile. The temple was just breath-taking and mind-boggling to think they were all created by hand! Even more astounding is the fact that I was standing where Pharaohs stood, maybe even touched the same walls or pillars that I did!

The colored hieroglyphs at the end of the slideshow were from an actual room that was still being cleaned. The colors were so vibrant and amazing. We actually stood close enough to touch them, but we didn’t. The temples are truly magnificent and I can only imagine what it must have felt like to see them in their glory days.
